Chad has been a member of  the New Hope Eagle Fire Company since 1993, and was elected Chief Engineer in 2003.   He is certified in Firefighter I & II, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Pump I & II, CPR, AED & First Aid.

Special duties for the Fire Department include maintenance of all fire trucks and acting as a driver and driver/trainer.  Chad received "Firefighter of the Year" in 2001 and "The Training Award" for 2004.  Chad is the owner of Block Communications in Buckingham.
