WILLIAMSON, KENNETH E.
Age 76, passed away suddenly on October 14, 2004.
Ken was born in New Hope and was the son of the late Edward and Gertrude Williamson. He attended the
New Hope High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After being held as a POW for 28 months, he was honorably discharged in 1953. In 2003, he was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries sustained while in combat.
Ken worked for New Jersey Public Service Electric and Gas Company and retired after 28 years of employment. He was a long time dedicated member of the New Hope-Eagle Fire Company and retired after service as Assistant Chief. He was also a member of the American Legion Edgar H. Denson Post #79 in New Hope and the Delaware Valley Fish and Gun Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the outdoors.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Carol A. Williamson; his loving children, Kevin Williamson and his wife, Suzanne of Pennington, NJ and Lynne M. Williamson of New Hope, PA.
Also surviving are his stepchildren, Eve Dietch and her husband David of Long Island, NY, and Adam Erwin and his wife, Wendy of Indianapolis; 9 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and a sister Mary Jane Howell of Lambertville, NJ; and his sister-in-law Anne Williamson and his brother-in-law Sam Wells and his wife Joyce; and many nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his sisters Gertrude Gleason, Edith Wells, and his brother Willard Williamson.
Family and friends are invited to Ken's Life Celebration on Monday from 6 to 9 PM at LEAVER-CABLE FUNERAL HOME, 4886 York Road (Route 202 at Quarry Road), Buckingham, PA and to participate in his Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 44 Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ. Interment will follow in Solebury Friends Burial grounds.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken's name may be made to American Legion Edgar H. Denson Post # 79, New Street, New Hope, PA 18938 or the New Hope-Eagle Fire Company, PO Box 314, New Hope, PA 18938.
