Additional Holiday Safety Tips
1. Unattended cooking is the leading cause of home fires. When cooking
for the holiday visitors, remember to keep an eye on the range.
2. Do not burn trash, gift wrap or green in the fireplace. They can
create creosote build-up in the chimney, which can lead to a chimney
or roof fire.
3. Do not burn pine boughs. Sparks can float out of the chimney and
ignite the roof of a nearby home.
4. Safely dispose of the tree when it begins dropping needles. Dried
out trees are highly flammable.
5. Again, make sure your smoke detector is in working order, if not
replace the battery or install a new smoke detector, it may save a love
one.
